Your tour begins in Moscow, the mega metropolis whose blend of Imperial decadence, Soviet austerity and vibrant contemporary energy is sure to entertain and enthral. Marvel at the iconic Red Square, the Kremlin and Saint Basil’s Cathedral and stroll along famous Arbat Street. Experience the Soviet iconic landmarks: Moscow Metropolitan and Moscow State University.
Then, take a fast train to Saint Petersburg, the city built by Peter the Great and the capital of the Russian Empire for over 200 years. One of the most beautiful cities in the world, its unique history is reflected in its splendid 18th and 19th century avenues, palaces and parks. Take in the city’s architectural highlights, discover its classical riches and its lively contemporary arts scene.
On arrival at the airport, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in the hotel or getting acquainted with the local area on your own.
Our Moscow discovery starts with a Kremlin grounds tour, following most iconic attractions, including the Red Square, the State Historical Museum, GUM (a luxurious shopping centre) and the colourful Saint Basil's Cathedral. As an option for today - the Russian ballet performance at the iconic Bolshoi Theatre.
Day starts with a tour of the Tretyakov State Gallery, established at the end of the 19th century. Next we embark on the tour of the Moscow Metro - world's largest and oldest, its beautiful underground stations are tourist attractions in their own right. We arrive to the Sparrow Hills to enjoy an unforgettable panorama of the city and check the Moscow State University – iconic Soviet Era landmark.
Today is free to explore the monumental capital on your own, as an option we invite you on a guided tour to Izmailovo Kremlin and its markets. Here you can visit various museums and enjoy this sprawling area, also known as Vernisazh market. In the evening you’ll be transferred to the train station for a departure by fast train (3h) to the cultural capital of Russia – St.Petersburg. On arrival, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to the centrally located hotel.
Our introduction to the cultural capital of Russia starts with the guided city tour, you'll visit Nevsky Propsekt, see the Kazan Cathedral, St. Isaac's Cathedral - the second tallest Orthodox church in the world, and the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. After lunch, we tour the grounds of the magnificent Peter and Paul Fortress.
The State Hermitage Museum - the largest art gallery in Russia and is among the most respected art museums in the world. We will explore the endless treasures of the Russian Tsars, including works by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian, Monet, Van Gogh and Matisse. As an option for this evening, we invite you to enjoy the traditional Russian dance performance in Nikolaevsky Palace.
Take a day trip to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Peterhof which is usually called "Russian Versailles" - a huge open air museum and a testament to Peter the Great’s contribution to the city’s development. We will explore Monplaisir Palace and Grand Palace, including its truly spectacular Grand Cascade. In the evening (as an option), discover splendour of the city by night, with a cruise along the Neva River.
Experience the extravagance of the Imperial rulers on an excursion to the suburban estates of the Romanov Tsars. - Tsarskoe Selo in Pushkin town - one of Saint Petersburg’s finest attractions. Amid exquisite parks and gardens you’ll find the baroque Catherine Palace, a dazzling testament to Catherine’s love of luxury and royal excess. We also explore the stately neoclassical Alexander Palace and the replica of the world-renowned Amber Room.
Our Moscow and Saint Petersburg tour has come to an end. After breakfast, we check out from the hotel, transfer to the airport say farewell to this beautiful city, until next time!
